The Council’s Environmental Health and Trading Standards section (the Regulatory Service) is required to produce and publish an Enforcement Policy which sets out the way in which enforcement actions will be undertaken and how best the Council can:
- Understand and minimise the negative economic impact of its activities;
- Minimise the costs of compliance for those it regulates;
- Improve confidence in compliance for those it regulates; and
- Encourage and promote compliance in the borough.
The Cabinet will be asked to approve the revised Regulatory Service Enforcement Policy.
The Cabinet resolved to adopt the revised Regulatory Services Enforcement Policy 2016 - 2020 as set out at Appendix 1 to the report, for implementation by all relevant Council regulatory functions.
