Purpose:

The Board will be asked to give formal approval of the Mental Health Needs Assessment.

Decision:

Having received and discussed the contents of the report,

 

The Board:

 

(i)  Noted the changes since the April report, and in particular those set out in sections 3.5, 3.6, 3.8, 4,2, 4.3.4.4, 4.5, of this report;

 

(ii)  Directed the Mental Health Sub-Group to produce a detailed Delivery Plan to address mental health prevention, treatment and recovery services for adults and children in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham;

 

(iii)  Requested six monthly progress and performance reports on the implementation of the Delivery Plan;

 

(v)  Asked that a detailed understanding of the mental health needs of Barking and Dagenham children and adolescents is delivered through a children and adolescent mental health needs assessment

(vi)   Requested that the Mental Health Sub-Group takes the recommendations of the Mental Health Needs Assessment into account when it is developing a Mental Health Strategy and looking at the future re-design of mental health services.
