Councillor Geddes is the lead member for regeneration and economic development, ensuring the borough gains from the benefits of growth. At the heart of this is the Council’s ambition to deliver thousands of genuinely affordable new homes for local people and provide public spaces that strengthen the connection between people and the places they share, or placemaking.

Councillor Geddes is responsible for the Local Plan, planning, transport and infrastructure policy issues. As part of this, he provides strategic direction for Be First, the Council’s wholly-owned regeneration company.

Councillor Geddes also has responsibility for the Council’s asset management and leads on the delivery of a range of energy and sustainability activity, including addressing fuel poverty by promoting energy efficient homes and providing strategic direction for B&D Energy, the Council’s wholly-owned energy services company.
