The Council has successfully bid for £1.2m from the Government’s Right to Buy Social Mobility Fund, aimed at extending opportunities for households to enter the Right to Buy market.
The Cabinet will be asked to agree the implementation and details of a local scheme which would support the following categories of households:
- Older tenants wishing to move to a different area to be closer to family or into more suitable accommodation;
- Working age tenants may want to move closer to employment opportunities;
- Tenants struggling to get a mortgage, for example because they live in a property of non-standard construction.
