Issue details

Community Assets Policy and Action Plan

The Council owns or has a stake in a wide range of physical community assets across the borough, such as libraries, children’s centres, community halls and parks and open spaces. At a time of reduced public funding and with the aim of enabling participation, it is important that these assets are utilised to their fullest and that the Council has a consistent approach to decision-making regarding these assets, enabling local residents and social sector partners to have their say over how assets are used, and who manages, owns and operates out of them.

The Cabinet will be asked to approve a new Community Assets Policy and associated Action Plan.
