There is a need for an immediate and long-term approach to improving overall immunisation uptake and reducing inequalities due to the lower immunisation uptake in London across routine childhood immunisations. Polio has been identified as a particular focus area given the recent identification of vaccine derived polio in sewage water in London increasing the risk of a potential outbreak.
