Decision Maker: Cabinet

Decision status: Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decisions:

Considered a report concerning the proposed Barking Abbey and Barking Town Centre Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan.

The purpose of an appraisal of an existing conservation area was to re-assess and evaluate it and to determine how it would be conserved and managed in the future. The Executive noted that the community would also be involved in the process.

Agreed, in order to assist the organisation in meeting the Council’s performance indicators and contribute to the community priority of ‘Raising Pride in the Borough’, that:

1.  The draft conservation area appraisal be approved and the Corporate Director of Regeneration be authorised to make any non-material changes necessary for wider consultation; and,

2.  The consultation process as detailed in the report can be carried out.
