The Cabinet will be asked to approve arrangements relating to the film studio developments being built at Dagenham East and the former Welbeck Steel site, River Road, Barking, in respect of granting a long-term lease to UKPN to install a new sub-station at the latter and transferring a thin strip of Council-owned land at Rainham Road South between the public highway and film studio site to Eastbrook Studios Ltd to facilitate an improved frontage at the former site.

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Agree that the Council enters into a 99-year lease with London Power Networks PLC for the site shown in Appendix 1, on the terms set out in the report;

(ii)  Agree that the Council enters into a 250-year lease with Eastbrook Studios Ltd for the site shown in Appendix 2, on the terms set out in the report; and

(iii)  Authorise the Strategic Director, Law and Governance to enter into all necessary agreements to facilitate the lease arrangements.
