The Cabinet will be asked to approve proposals for the re-tendering of the contract for the provision of Borough-wide translation and interpreting services, the current contract for which expires on 31 March 2015.

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Agree that the Council proceeds with procurement of a three year contract, with an option to extend for up to two years, for translating and interpreting services in accordance with the strategy set out in the report; and

(ii)  Authorise the Corporate Director for Adult and Community Services and the Head of Strategy and Communications, in consultation with the Leader, the Chief Finance Officer and the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, to conduct the procurement and award the contract to the successful bidder in accordance with the strategy.
