The Council is required to conduct a five-yearly review of homelessness-related issues.  The Cabinet will be presented with a new draft Homelessness Strategy covering the period 2019 to 2024 which will set out plans to build on the activities already underway in this area as well as new proposals to further improve outcomes over the coming years. 

The Cabinet will be asked to agree the key aims and objectives of the Homelessness Strategy 2019-2024 and the arrangements for public consultation on the draft Strategy.

The Cabinet resolved to approve the Homelessness Strategy 2019-2023, setting out the Council’s strategic direction for tackling homelessness, reducing temporary accommodation and eliminating rough sleeping, as at Appendix 1 to the report.
