The Cabinet will be asked to approve an amendment to the Council’s School Transport Policy in respect of young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to ensure that those leaving specialist schooling at 16 years of age to take up a college / further education place are automatically eligible for a continued transport offer.

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Approve the ‘Home to School Travel Assistance Policy 2021/22’ for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), as set out at Appendix 1 to the report; and

(ii)  Approve the updated ‘Post-16 Travel Assistance Policy 2021/22’, as set out at Appendix 2 to the report.
