Issue - meetings

Received the draft Local Implementation Plan detailing the policies and proposals which would implement locally the Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy, as well as the Council’s Community Priorities and transport agenda.  The report also set out the funding that would be required to implement proposals in the LIP and represented an opportunity to build a case for increased funding from external organisations such as Transport for London. 

Agreed, in order to assist in achieving the Community Priorities of “Making Barking and Dagenham Cleaner, Greener and Safer”, “Promoting Equal Opportunities and Celebrating Diversity”, and “Regenerating the Local Economy” and also to assist in the delivery of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, as required by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, to:

1. Note that the LIP consultation process had been completed and that a full consultation report would be published and made available to the public, after work on the LIP had been completed;

2. The Officers’ recommendations for changes to the LIP, made in response to the consultation comments; 

3. Authorise the Director of Regeneration to make any further minor changes to the Final Draft LIP prior or following its submission to Transport for London and the Mayor of London;

4. Submit the Final Draft LIP to Transport for London and the Mayor of London so that the Mayor of London can approve the LIP.
