Borough Spending Plan 2004/2005 and Funding Allocation for 2003/2004: Transport and Highways Projects pdf icon PDF 80 KB

Minutes:

Each year the Council is required to submit a Borough Spending Plan (BSP) to Transport for London (TfL).  The BSP sets out the Council’s proposed programme for traffic, transportation, road safety and highways projects for the next 5 years and its bid for funds to carry out those projects programmed for the following financial year.  The bid must be submitted by 31 July 2003.

 

Agreed the Borough Spending Plan 2004/05 in order to bid for funds from TfL for transport and highways projects, subject to Members being given the opportunity to comment on the detailed breakdown of the bid.

London Riverside Urban Strategy: Interim Planning Guidance pdf icon PDF 210 KB

On 23 July 2002 the Executive agreed that public consultation should be undertaken with a view to adopting the London Riverside Urban Strategy in the form of Interim Planning Guidance.  The development of the strategy and the consultation exercise has been carried out jointly with the London Borough of Havering. 

 

Agreed that, following the public consultation exercise, the London Riverside Urban Strategy be adopted as Interim Planning Guidance in order to make the most of the potential to provide new employment and housing in a high quality environment with good transport services in the London Riverside.

The Government is allocating £350m nationally to help address the issues of new planning legislation and the problems of recruiting and retaining planners.

 

The Council has been allocated £151,000 Planning Delivery Grant for 2003/04.

 

Agreed to allocate the Planning Delivery Grant for 2003/04 to the Interim Statutory Planning Division in order to improve the overall performance of this key service area.
