Received and noted the Commission for Social Care Inspection’s (CSCI) Annual Performance Review Report 2004, which reflects the CSCI’s view of the performance of social services in Barking and Dagenham during the last year and includes a summary of improvement recommendations for Child and Family Services and Services for Adults and Older People that need to be addressed over the next 12 months.

Received a report on the proposed introduction of alcohol consumption restrictions in Barking Town Centre through the making of an order under the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.

 

Agreed, in order to assist the Council in achieving its Community Priority of ‘Making Barking and Dagenham Cleaner, Greener and Safer’, to recommend the Assembly that it use its powers under Section 13(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 to make the area within Barking Town Centre identified in the report a Designated Public Place under the Act.

Minutes:

Received a report proposing a new Financial Assistance Policy to support the private sector housing renewal programme and to facilitate the provision of affordable housing in the private-rented sector.  The report also proposed a reprofiling of the private sector housing capital budget.

 

Agreed the new Financial Assistance Policy for Private Sector Housing as set out in Appendix 1 to the report and to the reprofiling of the budget as described in Appendix 2.
