Received the draft Local Implementation Plan detailing the policies and proposals which would implement locally the Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy, as well as the Council’s Community Priorities and transport agenda.  The report also set out the funding that would be required to implement proposals in the LIP and represented an opportunity to build a case for increased funding from external organisations such as Transport for London. 

 

Agreed, in order to assist in achieving the Community Priorities of “Making Barking and Dagenham Cleaner, Greener and Safer”, “Promoting Equal Opportunities and Celebrating Diversity”, and “Regenerating the Local Economy” and also to assist in the delivery of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, as required by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, to:

 

  1. Note that the LIP consultation process had been completed and that a full consultation report would be published and made available to the public, after work on the LIP had been completed;

 

  1. The Officers’ recommendations for changes to the LIP, made in response to the consultation comments; 

 

  1. Authorise the Director of Regeneration to make any further minor changes to the Final Draft LIP prior or following its submission to Transport for London and the Mayor of London;

 

  1. Submit the Final Draft LIP to Transport for London and the Mayor of London so that the Mayor of London can approve the LIP.

Barking Town Centre Market - Fees and Charges 2006/2007 pdf icon PDF 108 KB

Minutes:

Received a report setting out the current basis on which charges are levied on the Barking Town Centre Market Traders, and proposing revised charges for this service, which reflected the Charging Policy Commission principles.

 

This item was considered as a matter of urgency with the consent of the Chair under the provisions of Section 100B(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972.

 

Agreed, in order to assist the Council achieve its Community Priorities of  Regenerating the Local Economy, and Promoting Equal Opportunities and Celebrating Diversity, to the increases in the level of charges for trading on the Barking Town Centre Market from 26 June 2006 to cover increased costs from 2005/06 inflation as detailed in report.
