Declaration of Members' Interests

In accordance with the Council’s Constitution, Members are asked to declare any interest they may have in any matter which is to be considered at this meeting.

Minutes:

There were no declarations of interest.

To consider whether it would be appropriate to pass a resolution to exclude the public and press from the remainder of the meeting due to the nature of the business to be transacted.

Agreed to exclude the public and press for the remainder of the meeting, as the business was confidential.

Appeal against final written warning

Minutes:

The Board convened to consider an appeal from an employee in Public Realm against the issue of a final written warning and dismissal from their post for a ‘statutory restriction’, and a subsequent transfer to another post in the Council. The appellant was present at the hearing accompanied by their trade union representative.

 

In line with the procedure for the meeting, the Presenting Officer explained the circumstances and the processes which led to their decision and responded to questions from the Board and the appellant and their trade union representative. 

 

The appellant then presented their appeal. There were a number of questions from the Board which the appellant and their trade union representative responded to.

 

Following summing up by both parties, the Board having considered the officer report and representations from the appellant and their trade union representative, retired to make a decision in private, and

 

RESOLVED to dismiss the appeal.
