Apologies were submitted on behalf of Councillor A Achilleos.

There were no declarations of interest.  

In line with the terms of reference of the Sub-Committee, Members chose six planning applications to evaluate from a random sample of twenty submitted to the Council since January 2019, as selected by the Chair.

The Sub-Committee having reviewed all six applications was satisfied that the relevant planning policies and criteria had been applied in each case.

The Sub-Committee then reviewed both the forty-two appeal decisions and the one overturned decision, issued also since 1 January, as detailed in Appendix 2 and 3 to the report. In respect to the former it was noted that just over 20% of appeals had been allowed which demonstrated an exceptionally good appeal performance.

A full report detailing the Sub Committee findings from the evaluation will be submitted to the Planning Committee in March 2020.
