On 20 June 2017, the Cabinet approved a range of proposals relating to the establishment of a not-for-profit company, the Barking and Dagenham School Improvement Partnership (SIP), whose main would be to support the provision of high quality, best value services within schools to ensure continued improvements in educational standards.
The Cabinet will be asked to approve further arrangements that would enable Local Authority maintained schools to become members of the SIP, in accordance with regulations, and a working capital facility of up to £200,000.
