Issue details

The Cabinet will be asked to agree proposals, including the funding source and procurement strategy, for a major external and internal works project for the twin blocks of flats at Colne House and Mersea House, Harts Lane Estate, Barking. Externally the works would comprise of replacement of flammable cladding, replacement doors & windows, replacement of roof coverings and all ancillary works. Internally the works would comprise of new fire doors, extensive compartmentation and fire-stopping works both inside flats and in communal areas and upgrading existing lifts to assist fire-fighters.
