Barking Enterprise Centre Community Interest Company

Description

The Barking Enterprise Centre Community Interest Company (BEC CIC) was established in February 2016 with the following aims:

 

·  to develop, let and manage flexible accommodation/workspace for start-up and existing businesses at least in two locations within Barking and Dagenham;

·  to provide services which support the development of new business, enterprise, growth and business survival;

·  be a driving force for innovation in the delivery of enterprise and business support services in the community and other settings;

·  identify and bid for funding streams to deliver additional business support services and/or facilities management services;

·  influence policy makers in relation to business support;

·  be regarded as the provider of choice for business start-up and growth in Barking and Dagenham and beyond, in continuing to develop innovative, cost effective accommodation and business support which is responsive to the needs of local communities.

 

The Council appoints two Directors to the Company Board, one of which is the relevant Cabinet Member and the other a member of the senior management team.
