Declaration of Members' Interests

6.

Confer the Title of Honorary Freedom of the Borough

The Ceremonial Council is asked to confer the title of Honorary Freedom of the Borough to:

 

·  Councillor Cameron Geddes

·  Councillor Maureen Worby

·  Mohammed Siddique

·  Robert (Bobby) Chelsea Frederick Moore (posthumous award)

 

Minutes:

The Chair advised that a special meeting of the Ceremonial Council had been called in order to confer honorary titles for Freedom of the Borough under section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972.

 

The Chair moved that Councillor Cameron Geddes be conferred with the title Honorary Freeman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Ashrafand in pursuance of section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to admit Councillor Cameron Geddes to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

 

 

The Chair moved that Councillor Maureen Worby be conferred with the title Honorary Freeman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Rodwell and in pursuance of section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to admit Councillor Maureen Worby to be an Honorary Freewoman of the Borough.

 

The Chair moved that Mohammed Siddique be conferred with the title Honorary Freeman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Ashraf and in pursuance of section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to admit Mohammed Siddique to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

 

The Chair moved that Robert (Bobby) Chelsea Frederick Moore be posthumously conferred with the title Honorary Freeman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Rodwell and in pursuance of section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to posthumously admit Robert (Bobby) Chelsea Frederick Moore to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

 

 

7.

Confer the Title of Honorary Aldermen of the Borough

The Ceremonial Council is asked to confer the title of Honorary Aldermen of the Borough to:

 

·  Katherine Ann Golden

·  Milton McKenzie MBE

·  Bryan Martin Osborn

 

Minutes:

The Chair advised that nominations would now be made in order to confer honorary titles for Aldermen of the Borough under section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972.

 

The Chair moved that Katherine Ann Golden be conferred with the title Honorary Alderwoman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Rodwell and in pursuance of section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to confer the title of Honorary Alderwoman on Katherine Ann Golden.

 

The Chair moved that Milton McKenzie MBE be conferred with the title Honorary Alderman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Ashrafand in pursuance of section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to confer the title of Honorary Alderman on Milton McKenzie MBE.

 

The Chair moved that Bryan Martin Osborn be conferred with the title Honorary Alderman of the Borough.  The motion was seconded by Councillor Worby and in pursuance of section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Ceremonial Council resolved to confer the title of Honorary Alderman on Bryan Martin Osborn.
